The lotus lodge hotel was a very special experience for me and my family. The staff were great and especially for our children. The hotel was spacious, friendly, and the pool was large which the kids loved. One night the staff took us out to a local fair which was quite something. They had free dvd's for us to watch with the kids, the wifi was great so we could do some writing by the pool while drinking fresh fruit drinks. The location is nice as it is away from the busy downtown life which can be quite overwhelming. The selection of food was great too. The staff and managers are very knowledgeable about local places to go if you're interested in getting away from the many many tourists in siem reap. Overall I would say this is quite a unique place to visit and I really wish to return to Cambodia soon again.

The pool
When we arrived at the hotel we didn't receive a very warm welcome. The person at reception just gave us our key and pointed us in the direction of our room. They didn't tell us anything about the hotel, where anything was, about what time breakfast is served in the mornings or about the transport services that they provide. For the amount we paid we expected a bit more than this! Also, several times there were power outages so we were left in our room without any fan or ac and it got very very hot.

We are very positive about our stay at Lotus Lodge. We were backpacking and wanted a budget-friendly hotel in Siem Reap. The place is really calm and relaxing, and even though we are young we really enjoyed it. The location is perfect, it's outside the city but still only 5 minutes to the old market with tuk-tuk. Also, it has an amazing swimming pool and a restaurant where we enjoyed the hottest days. I really do recommend staying at a place with a swimming pool since the climate is really warm and if you chose to spend your vacation at Lotus Lodge, you won't be disappointed.
The breakfast was really simple.
